I read more in October than I did last month, but finished less books.  While the total book pages read — 1643 — was 299 more than in September — I spent considerably more time reading them, 3214 minutes compared to 2082 minutes last month.  Does that mean I’m reading slower now?  At any rate, I have already surpassed my goal of finishing 50 books for the entire year of 2013 so each additional book is a bonus.

6.  The Improbable Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes edited by John Joseph Adams (2008)

It was nice to finally finish the Sherlock Holmes anthology as I’d started it back in January and had been dipping into it occasionally since then.   I don’t think there are any other books that I’ve been reading for as long, although a couple are getting close.  I think I’ll tackle one of these in the next week or so.  It would be nice to finish George R. R. Martin‘s A Storm Of Swords before the next season of HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” begins!

Other books currently in-progress include William Martin‘s The Lincoln Letter, Blood & Beauty: The Borgias by Sarah Dunant, The Portable Edgar Allan Poe, and a biography of Benjamin Franklin.  Plus, there are many in my digital To Be Read (TBR) stack.  Too many…
