My name is Mark Joseph Jochim, a U.S. expatriate living in southern Thailand since December 2004. I work as an English teacher and have a number of hobbies that I like to blog about.
This website (now under my own domain) was called Asian Meanderings from June 2011 until August 2022 and grew out of my earlier blogs Phuket Bookworm and ‘Burque Blog, the latter started around 1999 while I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In addition, I have had several hobby-oriented sites including A Stamp A Day, Postcards to Phuket, and Philatelic Pursuits.
I have been quite active on social media, primarily writing about my experiences as a teacher and my interests in the fields of stamp collecting (philately) and Postcrossing. My interests in reading, music, and photo-graphy are highlighted in my writings from time to time.
I hope you enjoy reading whatever I decide to write about.
